Winter Wonderland Wedding
Getting married in a romantic winter atmosphere? You would think what is the attraction of getting married in the winter? The many couples who will get married in this season will certainly have a reason for that ............................
Lovely warm shawls is definitely a must for those beautiful winter photos.
Also useful for guests, lay decorative plaids for guests in a decorative manner, for example in a nice wicker basket.
Do choose seasonal blooms. This season means that some of your favorite flowers--tulips, peonies, hydrangeas--are simply not in season. Getting them in will cost you a fortune, so instead opt for in season flowers, such as jasmine, irises, roses and lilies. Cotton balls are also beautiful in the winter wedding bouquet.
The sun sets early in the winter, so this is a good chance to add some ambiance to the ceremony and/or reception. White lights and lit candles can set a romantic tone to the overall day. For the bride and groom a winter table decoration with lovely warm plaids.
Winter brings along some beautiful decor options: Icicle lights, frosted windows, evergreen and pine cone centerpieces are just some of the ideas you can utilize for your ceremony and reception.
Don't limit yourself to "winter colors." Just because it's the holiday season doesn’t mean you need to go with a red, green or white color scheme. In fact, choosing a more tropical color palette can be a nice surprise to the eye for your guests, so don't be afraid to go bold and bright with colors like pink, yellow or orange.
Winter is the perfect time to serve comfort foods at your wedding. Think mini grilled cheese and tomato soup in shot glasses during the cocktail hour, and possibly a meat and potatoes dish for the reception. Giving guests hot chocolate or mulled wine to enjoy is also a nice touch.
For the reception an ice blue cocktail or cocktail with a red accent, for the children a winter white (milk) drink with a nicely decorated snack.
Do take out wedding insurance. Hopefully Mother Nature will cooperate on your big day, but the winter months can bring snow, ice and sleet with it. Don't risk losing money if your wedding needs to be delayed because of a blizzard. Talk to your insurance agent about covering your wedding expenses so there will be no issue if you need to move it to another day.
Don't worry about the weather. Once you have the insurance, try not to think about what the weather will be like on the wedding day. It’s the one thing you can’t control, so don’t spend too much time stressing over it.
